And back from the place where I started the best journey of my life, and this time, indeed it was special. It was the CONVOCATION, the day when I officially became an engineer, one of my many dreams and one of the most special ones. Getting your first degree is always special, not only because you have completed those studies but you have lived through probably the best time of your life. As said, it is the journey that matters more, not only the end. I was looking forward to the convocation weekend from the moment I last stepped out of my college.
Sure, I was hesitant at first when I entered this college four years back as I was leaving my home for the first time, and it was a big deal for me, leaving family, relatives, school life behind. But as days pass by, we realize that it is totally worth it. Being on your own, in a place you don’t know, in an environment you haven’t seen, discovering yourself is a challenge in itself. We had used our parent’s identities before that, this was the time when we had to create ours. The first day, all we saw were the new faces, some lucky ones had known some before, but slowly we all got others, spent some time with them and realized what we all are for each other.
This journey of four years is something all of us are going to remember. Everyone has had their sweet and bitter moments, but that’s how life is, not everything is the way you want. OK, I started somewhere and went four years back, we all have lived through this time and we all have our awesome memories captured in our minds and hearts.
Coming back to the CONVOCATION, yes, the best part was meeting everybody again after six long months. I have felt nostalgic during that period. This was the time when we all were together, and this was also the time when probably we all were together for the last time (I hope it is not).
We hardly slept coz we wanted to make most of these two-three days. From awesome meals to night parties to endless photo sessions and the never-ending senseless conversation, I had the time of my life. I know I am going to miss this, coz even at this moment; I am still looking at the convocation photographs.
I still wonder what would have happened if I had been in some other college. I surely would have not known the people I love today, and I wouldn’t have even realized it. I am looking forward to the day when we all can catch up again(maybe the Alumni meets or in our marriages :P), relive some of the memories we have shared, laugh together or even cry a bit remembering those moments.
